Ubiquinol supports cellular energy production and cardiovascular health.* We use the active form because conversion can decline with age. Statins can also reduce the body’s natural CoQ10 production by affecting the same pathway used to make it. (Qu, H. et al (2018).)

Magnesium Glycinate | 125mg

Healthy muscle, nerve, and heart function*. Magnesium glycinate is highly bioavailable and gentler on digestion than the magnesium oxide used in many generic supplements. Absorption declines with age, so many people over 40 may be unknowingly low. (Kolte, D., et al (2014).)

Zinc | 10mg

Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble molecule that plays an indispensable role in mitochondrial energy production*. It is also a potent antioxidant. The heart, which beats approximately 100,000 times per day, is among the most CoQ10-dependent organs in the body.

Why it matters for statin users: Statin therapy uses the mevalonate pathway, which is responsible for synthesizing both cholesterol and CoQ10. Multiple studies confirm statin therapy reduces circulating CoQ10 levels by 16 to 54%. This is not a disputed finding. It is an established biochemical consequence of how statins work.

Why ubiquinol: We use ubiquinol, the active, "ready-to-use" form, because the body's ability to convert standard CoQ10 to ubiquinol declines with age. Our 150mg dose sits within the range used in clinical research.

Magnesium participates in over 300 enzymatic reactions in your body, including energy (ATP) production, protein synthesis, and normal muscle and nerve function.* It's also one of the most commonly under-consumed minerals. Roughly 1 in 3 adults falls short, and that tends to worsen with age and certain medications.

Why glycinate: We bind magnesium to the amino acid glycine, which gives it one of the highest bioavailability ratings among magnesium forms and makes it gentler on your stomach than magnesium oxide, the cheapest and most common form found in some other supplements. For something you take every day, that matters. Glycine is an amino acid that also is known for anti-inflammatory properties.

Magnesium has also been associated with improved sleep performance, muscle recovery, migraine support, and joint health support. Magnesium itself has anti-inflammatory properties that can lower C-reactive protein (CRP), an inflammation biomarker often elevated in arthritis sufferers.

Magnesium from your diet can be found in almonds, cashews, leafy greens (like spinach), black beans, soy beans, and whole grains.

Vitamin D plays a role throughout the body. Its receptors appear in immune cells and many other tissues, yet most adults over 40 are low in it without realizing, especially anyone who spends limited time outdoors.

D3 supports normal immune function and healthy calcium metabolism, and paired with K2 it helps direct calcium toward your bones and away from your arteries.* Low vitamin D levels have been linked in large population studies to poorer heart health — which is exactly why we'd rather you weren't running short.

We use 2,000 IU of D3 (cholecalciferol), a level commonly used to support healthy vitamin D status, and we pair it with K2 because the two work best together.*

Vitamin K2 activates a protein called Matrix Gla Protein, which helps direct calcium where it belongs — into your bones, and away from your arteries.* It's sometimes called solving the "calcium paradox," and it's the reason we pair K2 with D3. D3 helps you absorb calcium, and K2 helps route it to the right place.

Zinc is an essential trace mineral, and like Magnesium is involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, and it does two things we care about here: it supports normal immune function and acts as a cofactor for superoxide dismutase, one of your body's own antioxidant enzymes.*

Because the gaps that come with statin use and aging aren’t just one thing. CoQ10 gets most of the attention, and it should, but it’s not the only nutrient research shows is affected. Every ingredient in onlyone™ Heart earned its place. We could have kept adding, but we realigned with our core mission which was simplicity and foundational support. If the base needs are not being met, then adding lots of other ingredients would either lower the doses of the existing ingredients or increase the number of capsules you would need to take. Again, simple consistency and foundational support is key. Once you've nailed down your foundational support other things can be added to your routine.

There are many trending heart health herbs and ingredients out there and yes, many may deserve a second look, but first your heart needs its FOUNDATIONAL requirements met. For example: studies have shown that 30% of the population might be magnesium deficient. Since magnesium is used in over 300 enzymatic processes in your body, that cannot be ignored. And a heart health herb is probably not going to fix that foundational deficit. Future products might contain ingredients to help with performance or lipid metabolism, but we will always try to keep to our core mission.

Ubiquinol is the active, reduced form of CoQ10. It’s what your body actually uses. Ubiquinone requires conversion in your cells, a step that becomes less efficient as you age. We use ubiquinol because it’s the better choice, even though it costs us more.

K2 is primarily found in fermented soybeans called Natto. K2 activates Matrix Gla Protein (MGP) which is a powerful protein in your blood vessels linked to preventing soft-tissue calcification.

Not all forms of a nutrient are created equal. The synthetic versions in most cheap supplements require conversion steps your body becomes less efficient at performing as you age. We use the active forms throughout to help with any conversion inefficiencies.

Without high bio-availability, your body may excrete much of the nutrient leaving only a fraction for absorption it desperately needs. For B-vitamins this may be have further importance. Approximately 40% of the population may have a gene SNP with their MTHFR gene. This means that they cannot process synthetic forms of B-vitamins, some of which are found in our every day foods such as bread and cereals.
